Learning Objectives:
After completing this activity, the learner will be able to:
- Focus 1: Gain a level of understanding of the various microbial agents that exists and are capable of causing disease in humans.
- Focus 2: Understand how microbial agents are transmitted between hosts who become infected and how transmission leads to a cycle of infection, from one host to another.
- Focus 3: Appreciate the life cycle of a virus and how each point in this cycle is a possible target point for the development of treatments to disrupt the cycle and therefore the infection.
